Bastard/Banjo: 2 new prints

This weekend I'll be manning the 326 table with Elliot at the Tyler Street Garage Design Market in Auckland.

I'm also launching 2 new MASSIVE prints! It's about time I went bigger. These bad boys will be gracing the walls of TSG, alongside work by the 326 collective.

Come and check it out, especially if you frequent the Saturday Farmers' Market at Britomart, we're right across the road.

Dawn Service, Anzac Day

Yesterday I managed to drag myself out of a warm bed and into the dark to make it to the dawn service at the Auckland Museum. And so did at least 15000 other people! What a turn out. Looks like you have to get up quite a bit earlier than dawn to get a good viewing spot for this ceremony.

Bitchin' Birthday Bingo

Michael got older. Hoops found  a deer head. We drank from teapots. Bingo and lewdness ensued.

And I won a round! Mistress Viv is an excellent host. Make no error on your bingo sheet, else suffer her scathing repartee.

Nikita the Spooky and a Circus of Men

Drawing at the Matterhorn. Thanks to Thaw for reminding me I had pen and paper handy.

Beautiful sounds from Nikita and her handsome band. Great way to end a night out in Wellington.

Climbing in Fiordland

This year I spent Easter in Milford Sound, the wettest place in New Zealand. Luckily we were blessed with mostly clear days after hiking through steep forest tracks drenched by night-time rain, up to drier (and sunnier) climbing areas like Little Babylon.

I do love the mountains! Made me nostalgic for the epic cliffs of Cape Town. How I took that for granted when I lived there, now they are such a treat.

Cut Collective at Creative Mornings Auckland

(download)

Back to K Road this morning to listen to Cut Collective talk about one of their latest projects: the Splore Portavillion. Re:Turn has some great vids and photos of the project.

Ross displays the solution to making the crates comfy for the Splore folk – pillows! And check out Cut Collective's youngest audience member, quite the discerning gaze from that babe.

Flox & Fly My Pretties exhibition

Managed to make it to Flox's exhibition today. Gutted I missed the opening night, seasonal flu is taking it's toll!

Still on for a few more days, and with some great big beautiful pieces it's worth the effort of trying to find a park on K road in your lunch break.
